In 1986, Hamburg and Shanghai became friendly cities. On this visit, Dr Samcher first visited tesa adhesive tapes for bonding application solutions in the automotive market, electronics market and other major general industrial markets. Afterwards, he and tesa employees made further understanding and exchanges on tesa's industrial products and household products business.

In the following session, Mr Liu Zhengrong introduced the Beiersdorf Group and its cosmetic brands la prairie, NIVEA and Eucerin to the delegation, and answered the mayor's concerns about the differentiated development of the two countries and social welfare protection.
The visit to tesa by a delegation led by the Mayor of Hamburg was also reported by well-known German media, including Die Welt and Hamburger Zeitung.
